ABSTRACT PRESENTATION
Deadline for Abstract Submission: Thursday, 30 June 2022 at 23:59 (MYT/SGT)
Abstract submissions are welcome for the following categories for presentation at the 15th Congress of APPSPGHAN & 43rd Annual Congress of the Malaysian Paediatric Association, Sabah International Convention Centre, Sabah, Malaysia:
CATEGORIES
Oral Presentation
Poster Presentation
Young investigator award (oral presentation only)
When submitting, presenters may indicate their preferred mode of presentation; either oral or poster.
As the slots for oral presentation are limited, not all submissions for oral presentation will automatically be accepted. Selection will be done by a panel of experts based strictly on scientific merits of the abstract.
Abstracts not selected for oral presentations will be automatically transferred as poster presentation.
ABSTRACT DETAILS
For those abstracts accepted for oral presentation do not need to generate/prepare a poster.
Abstracts are subjected to the approval by the Scientific Committee.
Authors will receive the email notification of abstract acceptance/rejection via email by 15th August 2022 onwards.
The presenting authors must register for the congress before the deadline by 15th September 2022.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Before submitting, please ensure the following guidelines are adhered to :
Language: All abstracts should be written in English.
Deadline for submission: Abstracts must be submitted through online system before Thursday, 30 June 2022 at 23:59 (MYT/SGT) .Late submissions will not be accepted. Abstracts submitted by post, fax or email will not be considered.
The title should be brief but adequate to clearly identify the nature of the abstract. Please include the authors’ name, and the name of the institution where the work was undertaken. The body of the abstract should be no more than 350 words. One table and maximum two references (to follow Vancouver style) maybe included at the end of the abstract which will not be included in the word count.

CRITERIA FOR CONGRESS YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
At the time of presentation, the presenter must be below 40 years of age.
The first author listed must be the presenter.
The first author must have contributed significantly to the conception, design, data acquisition and interpretation of the study.
Original research from any country are all welcome.
Abstracts from countries outside Malaysia must be related to paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. Abstracts from Malaysia may include general paediatrics.

Asian Pan-Pacific Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN) is a non-profit making organization for the benefit of anyone in the Asian Pan-Pacific region in the fields of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. Its purposes are to promote knowledge in these fields through conferences and workshops, and to stimulate the conduct of researches in search of new knowledge and treatment. APPSPGHAN is one of the society members of the Federation of International Societies of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology, and Nutrition (FISPGHAN).

The Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA)
MPA plays a major role in advocacy on all issues related to paediatrics and child health. This covers not only health, but social issues and current controversies as well, such as child abuse and neglect, inappropriate advertising targeted at children and adolescents, unsuitable TV programmes for viewing, injury prevention, substance abuse and cigarette smoking. MPA is affiliated with the Association of Pediatric Societies of the Southeast Asia Region (APPSEAR), now renamed Asian Pacific Pediatric Association (APPA), and International Paediatric Association (IPA). Locally, MPA is affiliated with the National Council for Child Welfare.
